An attacking midfielder isn't up there permanantly the clue is in the name, attacking MIDFIELDER! i.e. a midfielder who attacks but who plays in midfield. So are you saying joe cole couldn't have done the role of meireles today? Why didn't Cole, Babel or Pacheco come on for Kuyt or Maxi? Why is it daft? How many assists has Kuyt got this season? The previous post was stating Babel hadn't scored many, I was mearly pointing out that he's scored as many as another player who plays in the position he could play in but has played a lot more! Kuyt has been poor this season! So you don't care who is the better player and therefore who comes on in a game to help us try and win the game? I've noticed there has been no reply to your post that was full of b******s about Cole / Babel not being able to play the role that Raul did today!

Before the pen Babel has score the same amount as Kuyt! Babel has played 229 mins, Kuyt has played 1389 mins! If none of them played for Liverpool and I offered you 1 player to sign out of Babel, Cole and Shelvey - you'd sign Shelvey???

so Meireles as you've just said above was the player joining torres? So doesn't this make him the attacking midfielder / 2nd striker out of the 3, if he's the one supporting torres? No all I'm doing is asking why Kenny didn't use the 3rd sub and bring cole or babel on ahead of shelvey? If Woy had left Cole, Babel and pacheco on the bench when we still had 1 sub left to use and brought shelvey on ahead of them he would have been slated! One rule for one and another rule for another on here I think! P.S. I'm as glad as everyone that Woy has left, I just apply the same rules to Kenny as I did to Woy or Rafa before him!

Spearing was the most forward out of him, Lucas and Raul?????? we must have watched different games! Even if that was the case (which it wasn't and it's poor tactics by kenny if it was because spearings game is mostly his defensive side) why not put spearing further back and put cole / babel behind torres?

Raul was playing as the 2nd striker / attacking midfielder not central midfield........... are you telling me Cole and Babel haven't played as the 2nd striker / attacking midfielder. P.S. Joe Cole has said his preferred position is central midfield even though that's not where Raul was playing!!!! As for Kuyt being one of our best players and Maxi being involved and taking up good positions.............

But we should be going to win the game at Home when we are 4 points above the drop-zone and especially against the blue-s****! You shouldn't really worry about chasing back and tackling with attacking players, it's their attacking qualities that you use! If you've got more of the ball and you're on the attack more than the opposition then chances are that you will have a better chance of scoring! How many has Shelvey scored?

Babel's pace could have hurt them in the 2nd half with such an open game! I just can't understand why you don't use ALL of your subs. I've seen nothing yet from Shelvey that makes me thing he can change a game YET! He might be in the future but not yet!

Babel has scored some goals for us when he's come on and we've been loosing! When has shelvey ever done that??

But we've seen in the past Babel scoring with something out of nothing, Cole has done it over his career at Chelsea and West Ham. They should have been brought on before Shelvey, and why leave both on the bench WHEN WE'VE STILL GOT A SUB TO USE!

Shelvey done nothing really..... But in a game who do you go with the England international, the Dutch international or the young kid who hasn't really done much so far (not saying he won't be in the future) and why not bring on Babel or Cole when you have got 1 sub left to use???

Why Didn't Kenny Bring on Cole or Babel? We still had 1 sub to use, so why not use him??? Shelvey ahead of Cole or Babel is a joke!

Yep and that's where I think Kenny got it wrong, he picked the team with the Derby in mind (including Subs) and to win the derby! He should have played his strongest team tonight, not Johnson at LB, Jova and shouldn't have had Poulsen anywhere near the team! 3 points are 3 points and if we win tonight we go into the Derby on a high regardless of how tired the players are and of all people I thought Kenny would understand this!
