Yeah maybe that was it. I'm starting to think these forum debates are the online equivalent of 2 bald men fighting over a comb but at least it's therapeutic!
-
Well in that I apologize but I honestly thought it was you but can't be arsed looking back though it. Happy to take your word for it.
-
I've no clue NYR. If I had your connections I'd try and get 15 mins with someone from FSG and give them the pitch of my life to be as arsed about LFC as they are about the Sox! But as fans all we can is hold them to account cos I'm not having my club become a poxy Aston Villa. And as to your general point about H&G... "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
-
I've a pain in me hole listening to how we should just accept our fate as we don't have the same money as top 4. This stat proves it's all b****x and you're point is 100% correct.... It's how we use it. You had a pop the other day on here saying no one was shouting the odds over the ownership last season when all was rosy in the pitch. Which in the main is correct but there were plenty on here who were and you know full well that the issues which have manifested themselves these past few months have been there for 3 years. Lack of investment in both time & £ into the club from the ownership aligned with a model which was doomed from the start.
-
And the same spin meisters who tell you that FSG are just brill and are par cos we simply can't make top 4 cos we're not as rich as Arsenal can wrap their jaws around the fact that Spurs have finished above is in 5 of those last 6 seasons. The difference between our wage bill and Spurs? About £40m. So yeah. Paul Tomkins was right. We should all just give up & sign on to FSG's mediocrity train cos there's no way lil ol'Liverpool could ever achieve anything with our paltry turnover of £300m + Brendan will carry the can but any fan who thinks FSG are worth more than a scrapings off a dog s*** fouled boot needs to have a word with themselves. Cue forum biz-whizz Rimbeux to let us know that we never said this last season. Check the posts. There were plenty of us saying it. The time to fix the roof is when the sun is shining and this shower of spoofers blew our glorious sunny day last summer. f*** of FSG.
-
You assume correctly. The point is we right back where we started. And Mike Ashley is a better owner than H&G mate.
-
Another fact for all the FSG-a-maniacs out there: @MelissaReddy_: #LFC last six PL seasons: 2009/10 | 7th | 63 2010/11 | 6th | 58 2011/12 | 8th | 52 2012/13 | 7th | 61 2013/14 |2nd | 84 2014/15 | 6th | 62 Yeah. We're really blessed with this shower of c**** alright. Rodgers the latest good man to take the fall for their unarsed smart arsed b****xogy. G'nite.

I've extrapolated that our t/o for 14/15 will be £300m based on Cl money, sponsors etc for the purpose of explaining my assertion that we've loads of cash. Which we do. Over £100m more pa. And I'm not arsed if you believe me Cobs. I'm not trying to start a club here. I've been saying thus lot aren't arsed for over 2 yrs now. I've been questioning their approach to LFC for over 3 yrs. the fact that a large swathe of the support are suddenly coming round to my line of thinking tells me I haven't been that far off. Incorrect readings. Who the f*** am I supposed to be now , Mystic Meg?! FSG aren't arsed. Read that.

A competent operation in Chapel St means no one ever has to question why John Henry doesn't go the game anymore or have to step in a la Suarez and prob this summer. The apologists will say that this happens at other clubs and they're right. But it also doesn't happen at OTHER clubs. Look at Chelsea. Arsenal since Kroenke came in. Southampton & Swansea to name 2 others. We've £300m t/o. There's a lot we can do with that if we had the right operation.
-
Sorry Cobs buts the problem when you only read the pr s***e from the club. As per my source, the Swiss Ramble, and indeed Flight ps past IIRC, there's the small matter of £69m in the 13-14 accounts which is debt "owed to group undertakings". My figs are bang on bud.
-
If this is their strategy they're as bad at it as they are at football operations. Again from the Swiss Ramble: Net debt on the club- 2010 - £65m 2014 - £126m. So we've got great owners cos at least they haven't saddled the club with debt like H+G.
-
Sorry to break your heart but as per Swiss Ramble our wages have grown from £114m when FSG bought club to £143m on 13/14. Ayer is on record as boasting about how we spent £100m last summer and actually reduced the wage bill so let's assume it's now simply £140m. That's just over 20% in 5 yrs. Meanwhile we've increased t/o from £184m to £256 in 13/14 but that's without CL footie which whilst not available next season, is more than offset by the new TV deal for 16/17 so let's assume it's £300m (and it'll be more than that). That's a 65% increase in t/o. Now you add in the fact that 15/16 sees at a min £14m pa off the wage bill with Stevie & Johnson gone, that puts our wage bill going into this summer at c.£126m but let's just say it's £130m. That's still a wages to t/o of 45%. As I said, we've loads of cash. The FSG-a-maniacs don't like hearing this. Not as much £ as our wealthier neighbours but certainly enough to pay 2/3 world class talents (which is all any team really needs to challenge) then£200-£250k pw wages they'd demand. An ownership which was even remotely arsed about us would recognise this & commit accordingly. Instead we've got Ian Ayre & his Alma da Cuba briefings on LFC's shrewdness in the market. http://swissramble.blogspot.ie/2015/03/liverpool-show-of-strength.html

Someday someone will write the story of how Martin Broughton managed to sell LFC for the price he did to FSG. Probably after he's dead so as to avoid the lawsuit.
-
Please read Flights very detailed and itemised post. We're not Utd but we don't need to be.
-
Corporate competence is the the least you should expect from a $1bn operation (which is the value Forbes put on us recently). as for spending, no one is asking for Lionel Messi. We don't need an Oligarch. On a global scale we're swimming in cash. We've f***ing loads of it. And there's plenty more to come.
-
Is f***ing right Molby. John Henry could drop his keks and wave his b****x at the Kop & there's a section of Liverpool fans who'd say "well at least he's not Tom Hicks". They're wedded to a belief they formed 4 years ago and no amount of facts (outstanding work by Flight btw) or apllication of basic common f***ing sense is gonna turn them around. FSG aren't arsed and I'm with you in hoping the FFP jiggery-pokery means they'll f*** off and sell to someone who's at least arsed about LFC.
-
Nearly 3 years to the day since Chewie kicked off this thread with the post below. I urge anyone wondering where we're going under this shower of un-arsed c**** to re-read it. Has ANYTHING changed in 3 years? We've still got a confirmed Divvy at the top of our corporate ladder & no obvious leader at the club bar the bloke who wears #8 but's off to Malibu next week. The best line I think is this: "We have become both kings of wishful thinking and masters of appeasement at the same time".
-
Which was my point all along SR as all I heard was that we're "losing money" and "can't afford to pay the wages of other clubs" which was all b****x as new tv & commercial deals hadn't been accounted for & the vast majority of our losses since Kenny left (when they effectively said too-de- f***ing-loo to LFC & handed the club to Ian Ayre) are stadium related but that's old news cos hey ho guess what we're now profitable which was what I was saying all along. I've had pelters on here for daring to suggest that this lot aren't arsed. That they've failed to invest. That just because they're not H&G that we should be grateful. That they're 'value strategy' was doomed to fail In this market. Yet here we are moaning about transfer commitees and failure to pay wages to attract a Suarez replacement. Yet it seems our latest collapse has brought the regime firmly into focus. They're failure to engage with LFC as they have done with Red Sox is really effecting us and jokes aside the appointment of that divvy Ayre just rubber stamped this view. Ha! Funny but true
-
To be fair mate there's a few of us have been saying this for over 3 years on here. They're not arsed anymore and haven't been since they appointed Rodgers. But then I'm just making things up and we're losing money apparently yet we broke even in 2013/14 and wait till you see how good 14/15 is.
-
I know he's s*** at his job cos he's s*** at his job. Want to know how I know this? Cos he's s*** at his job. And he's a complete bell end.
-
Ha! Now I'm Ian Ayre's biggest fan?!! Is that a #foxnewsfact ? I've been saying the clubs a shambles for years and along with Chewie & Flight (and a couple of others) called FSG out for the half arsed shower they are years ago so I've no idea where you get the idea I think the club is being run well. I referred to the commercial operation (and that's been done to death) It's becoming glaringly obvious what the strategy is and yet we still have posters defending moves such as Ayre's appt as CEO which is beyond baffling. Paralysed by self interest is the best way of describing it and we're the ones who are paying for the privilege.
-
Some might say we're thriving Do you want a couple of them?
-
I won't disagree with you on his defensive coaching but this is exactly how FSG f***ed things up .... Summer Transfer Window : Players IN Kolo Toure – Free Transfer – Man City Iago Aspas – £7m – Celta Vigo Luis Alberto – £6.8m – Sevilla Simon Mignolet – £9m – Sunderland Aly Cissokho – Season Loan – Valencia Mamadou Sakho – £15m – PSG Tiago Ilori – £7m – Sporting Lisbon Victor Moses – Loan – Chelsea Jan Window - Players IN .......... But yeah you're right, Rodgers had loads of squad depth last year & all his fault he didn't win the league.
