  1. Tend to agree. The presence of the female in cases such as these strikes me as a token gesture. I'm all for group sex. It doesn't matter how big the body count is as long as the c**k count is no more than 1.
  2. Apparently her name was 'Stevie'??
  3. I was at the Celtic game last night. And you can be sure they are glad to be second, with the home tie first because it gives them some small degree of chance of being in a competitive tie at half time in the second leg.

  5. Fair play NWR, you've done a good job shifting the goalposts on this issue. Fact remains that your lot sing about Liverpool all the time instead of supporting your own team. It makes you a laughing stock, end of story.
  6. Any truth to the rumour that Mourinho has been taken to hospital this evening suffering dizziness and nausea, sporting a strange radioactive glow?
  7. I can understand why the last 3 or 4 pages of this thread are as they are. If the media 'experts' (even the ones who might work in the financial industry) aren't clear on future possible directions, then it's no surprise the motivation of DIC is unclear now. I think it makes the situation all the more interesting, everybody second-guessing DIC. Perhaps this is the potential fly in the ointment - that when they look at the books, even they will condude that what's there isn't worth the investment, and nothing else in football is.
  8. One would expect some of these experts to give a credible proposal as to what it is diversification might achieve for Dubai. I can easily see the brand argument but one would think that there is more to it than that. The return from LFC is not going to go very far to match the revenue from oil.
  9. Well we didn't want a takeover by this guy, right? Indian tycoon Mittal to buy CSKA Sofia SOFIA, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Indian steel magnate Pramod Mittal is on the verge of completing the purchase of Bulgarian premier league club CSKA Sofia. Steel giant Global Steel Holdings (GSHL), who controlled 71 percents of Bulgarian steel mill Kremikovtzi, is run by Pramod and Vinod Mittal, the younger brothers of Lakshmi Mittal. Lakshmi Mittal controls the world's largest steelmaker Mittal Steel , who acquired rival Arcelor for $32 billion earlier this year. "There is an agreement of principle between the current and the potential owner," said Mittal's advisor Alexandar Tomov on Monday. "But there's still a lot of work to be done." CSKA, one of the most famous Bulgarian clubs, was bought in 2000 by Vasil Bozhkov, who is considered the richest man in the Balkan country. Bozhkov, however, angered CSKA supporters by sacking Serbian coach Miodrag Yesic in April and that decision was followed by frequent disputes between the fans and the club's management. Last season, CSKA shut one end of their ground following abusive chants aimed at the club's owner and officials. "The potential owner's goal is not only the Bulgarian league title but reaching (the) European level," said Tomov, who is a former Bulgarian vice-premier. "This club is an institution. CSKA are 30-times Bulgarian champions, they have one million fans. Football in Bulgaria just can't exists without CSKA." Tomov would become a director of the club since chief executive Stefan Ormandzhiev has already declared his intention to leave when the acquisition is completed. "I can help the club. It needs a new way of financing and it's necessary to accumulate resources," said Tomov. The Sofia-based team's chief scout Dimitar Penev also confirmed Mittal is close to becoming the new owner of CSKA. "They are working on it and there will be more information about the deal on Tuesday," he said. CSKA are second in the standings with 37 points from 15 matches, two points behind bitter city rivals Levski.
  10. Seriously, how can you loathe him? The man is not only brilliant but seems admirable as a person too, at least in his demeanour. This is not a sales pitch for us to buy him, the day we pay 50 million for players is likely the day I throw my hat at the whole thing but....
  11. Graham Hunter on the wireless giving his two pence worth. Saying that the Makthtoums (short hand for DIC I suppose) are extremely passionate about football, especially good football. Hunter, who we know is very well connected at Barcelona, says there are constantly visitors from Dubai clamouring for pictures with the players etc, particularly Ronaldinho. And since they like him so much, they'll probably buy him. [Me and not Hunter may have said this]
  12. I don't think Godolphin are too interested in Aintree. Ascot or Goodwood or Newbury etc maybe but they aren't exactly known for their devotion to northern 'national hunt' courses.
  13. I'm sorry to be so subjectively contrarian, but no he's fecking not!

  15. Loaded features on Liverpool WAGS will never be the same again
  16. I am open to contradiction, but Godolphin doesn't a bottomless kitty in sales or in running their yards and we can assume that racing is more a passion of the DIC hierarchy than football. (they have paid the world record sum for a horse, I think so maybe that's an indicator too) I would guess that sound business practice will be the norm and that Parry includes to this in his 'heritage and traditions' quote. Once ordered his horses at a 3 Day Event I was working with to be washed in Ballygowan. And they were. So hard, but soft too. I agree with a lot of that because if we're dreamers, that's the fantasy, But I honestly, genuinely believe a championship won the hard way is better than a championship won with superstars, many of whom I don't think give a bollix. What this amounts to is letting go the dream that pure football management craft, good scouting of younger and lesser known players and getting them to play as an unbeatable team is the pinnacle of football achievement (in my opinion anyway).
  17. Mate of mine sent me some links to movies of drifting accidents while guys in that part of the world took their high powered cars for on-the-limit spins down public highways. The cars drifted and slammed into assembled onlookers, who from what I could see, treated it all as a hilarious side effect. So expect road crashes to go through the roof if this all comes off.

  20. Typo or malpropism? You decide OM, you spud munching mick.
  21. PLease tell me that's true. It would be truly hilarious.
  22. At least people will stop calling Robbie Fowler 'God' now. It'll be 'Allah' instead.
  23. Ah jaysus, you wouldn't mind if they were funny or vaguely racist. Raghead Rovers Al Qaida F.C. You'll Never Walk Al'One Liverpool Dirka Dirka Jihad FC Liverpool F Shiekh
  24. Forbes reckons Roman is worth $18.2bn?
  25. To be fair, I think most right-thinking fans share the exact same concerns as you do. This forum often hosts discussions on the issues you've mentioned. Not sure there are too many unconditional thumbs ups. But football is gone this way and people are pragmatic, and what can you do...? The prime issue for me is whether the Premiership in general will be worth much of a bollix. Seems to me that the only competitive level playing pitch left in football may be the Champions League, where the elite play the elite. But right now it's hard to have a reaction since nothing has happened yet and it all remains to be seen after something does happen.
