This thread reminds me that when the signing of Lauri Dalla Valle was reported in the Finnish papers, most of them also stated that Dalla Valle had been training with some youth team and the session was led by Kevin Keegan... Surely not?

Garay-Agger sounds good, but there seems to be bad karma with us and Argie CB's...

Remember the topic about Lauri Dalla Valle, the (now) 16-year old Finn we approached with an offer a few months ago? Well I couldn't unearth it from the archives, but some new developments have taken place. According to Now Chelsea have apparently stepped in with a offer of £1m and promising to double the wages offered by any other club. Malcolm Elias, however, remains confident that Dalla Valle will sign for us. The article implies that wherever he goes, he will move in January at the latest. Quotes from Elias - I saw Lauri in Euro qualifiers in Sarajevo and I repeat, Lauri is an incredible talent. I'm eagerly waiting him to join Liverpool and I'm confident that he is willing to join us. - The idea is to have the whole Dalla Valle family come and visit Liverpool in November. The club is very committed to develop Lauri into a top player and to follow the footsteps of Sami Hyypiä at Anfield FWIW, the link... Let's see what happens...

Yesterday's match showed that Sami at 34 has trouble recovering. Anyone would at his age. It's a known issue, but to write off his whole season is a bit over the top. He has been a MOM contender on several occasions even this season. Hell, against Marseille he was just about our biggest goal threat!

A couple of weeks ago Rafa hinted that he's ready to offer Sami a contract extension.

Human body maybe, but how about the mind? I think there are also mental issues caused by constant nine-month pressure. Don't forget that in April the games are crunch games and there two of them each week. I'll stick by Rafa in this case, thank you very much...

I didn't see the game but I think it speaks volumes that my local paper (with no anti-Manc agenda that I have noticed) here in Finland had two (2) articles by different journalists on how bad the ref was...

I think we will find out in April and May. We'll be fresher than the teams that don't rotate.

Which can equally well be countered by reading the game well...

Everybody's panicking about Sami, yet judging by the match thread Carra had a stinker vs. Porto. Anyway, Sami recently played two internationals (Serbia away and Poland at home) back to back and the Finns did not concede a goal in either of those matches (did not score either, but that's not Sami territory...). Like someone said, the only worry is how well he'll recover.
