Summary of events for those just turning in: Owen issued statement yesterday saying he'd only go on loan to Newcastle if a deal with Liverpool could not be agreed. Subsequent to this statement, Newcastle offered a "club record bid" for Owen. This bid has been accepted by Real Madrid. Souness today has stated that he wont take Owen back on loan. In addition to this, Souness said that it was no longer up to Owen because Madrid accepted their offer. Freddy Sheppard has today issued an ultimatum for Owen to pledge allegiance to the Geordies by midnight tonight...coinciding with Deportivo accepting Newcastle's bid for Albert Luque. Have I missed anything?
