there are no new property developments starting now in the uk apart from those olympics related money is too expensive and economic climate too uncertain starting stadium redevelopment now could actually mean the end of liverpool fc having said that they delayed long before credit crunch but maybe that was due to redesign. who knows

i think modern game is that width has to come from full backs pressing on very few old fashioned wingers around we do come inside too often though when we go wide we do create chances though we have to go back to the formation we used in second half of the season it worked
-
rotation the answer? need to get beyond full backs, cross, pull back not turn back inside and play through centre el zhar deserves a run of games liege looked good but have no idea what standard they are really so in some ways hard to judge us we were lucky though and can also thank the fact we have one of the best in the world in reina
-
El Zhar does give us something when he comes on width, pace, passion we were lucky
-
not over yet s*** i'm nervous
-
thank god for that
-
they have had about six chances to score over two legs combination of pepe and their poor finishing
-
we look like going out to me very nervy last five minutes
-
get masch back and go back to last years formation
-
why do we invariably turn back into traffic hardly ever get beyond full back and cross/pull back
-
starting to do a bit better now why do we only start to play at end of games still worried they will snatch one
-
thought united struggled didn't create much but got the goal vidic and ferdinand are a good pairing though crouch didn't get a touch all game
-
reckon sky will say united are a one man team? look a lot weaker without ronaldo ref should have booked entire wall
-
Its great to see young players (Plessis, El Zhar) coming through and getting chances - part of what following a club is about is not just the big money signings but excitement when a young player could be the "one". Credit has to go to Rafa for this. Clearly when he came we had nothing in the junior ranks and he has slowly assembled some genuine prospects.
-
back the manager but he shouldn't air dirty linen in public club is run on a budget and buying a player for 18m with no resale value when we have gerrard, alonso, masch, lucas, plessis who all play in same position may not make business sense global recession means we all have to cut our cloth etc

uneforceable decision. more fifa trying to be moral watchdog. where is blatter and his slave comment now. -
Standard Liege must be happy 0-0 home draw is a better result than a 2-1 or 3-1 win (which it could have been)
-
our front two cost 40m the broke card is overplayed
-
they got in amongst us, tackled and harried and we were not up for the physical battle will take a while for carra and agger to settle together defence was beaten too often with clipped ball over their head reina was immense. positive to see the younger players getting a go though nice to see el zhar coming on problem i see is that we lack creativity going forward and rely on hopeful punt need likes of babel to step when he gets back some clever touches from keane but again will take time to gel with torres i hope rafa perseveres with a settled team for first couple of months game will stand to us for sunderland up to us to win at home now in second leg

just an example but say decide to raise price of pies in stadium, say they want to increase price of jerseys etc in club shop, price of tickets commercial decisions that may need to be taken for benefit of club but that would hurt individuals pockets i can see the pressure groups forming especially the sense of entitlement a 5000 share or part of a 5000 share would give somebody -

Barcelona have a long standing tradition of fan membership and even there in a two horse league they sack their manager far too regularly. Presidents are elected based on signing marquee names. -

Nowhere does he say we can't afford him. Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has ruled out an immediate move for Spain striker David Villa, but has admitted he is interested in signing Robbie Keane. Peter Crouch's imminent move to Portsmouth means Liverpool are in the market for a new striker and on Tuesday Benitez admitted Villa was an option. "I said the other day that he is one of the names we had on our list," the Spaniard said of the Valencia forward. "But I can say at this moment that it is not an option for us." He added: "We know Villa is a very good player, we know the price and we know the players we have, so when you consider everything we decided he was one of the names, but at this moment, not our target." Tottenham striker Keane has also been linked with a move to Anfield this summer and Benitez admitted he is one of several options the club are currently looking at. "Keane is one of the other names and OK, we are still working with other names. We were in contact and we will see now." However, Liverpool could be priced out of a move for the 28-year-old Irishman as Benitez continues his search for a partner for Fernando Torres. The 23-year-old Spaniard scored 33 goals in a spectacular first season at Anfield, but the club's other strikers only managed a combined total of 17 goals to undermine any hopes of launching a sustained Premier League title challenge. Villa, 26, scored 18 league goals for Valencia last season and was the top scorer at Euro 2008, notably scoring a hat-trick against Russia in a Group D match. And he also proved he could form an effective partnership with Torres, despite pre-tournament concerns that Spanish coach Luis Aragones would be forced to leave one out in order to select a balanced team. -

SOS shows why membership/fans owning the club would be an unmitigated disaster. Pressure groups such as SOS are often dominated by "bigger characters" and their personal prejudices come to the fore. Not a criticism but its the way life is. Any committee is the same. Any group is the same. Having your a*** on the line (in a business) usually curtails the excesses. They are also dominated by people who have time to devote to the project and who get caught up in their piece of turf. There seems to be an "anti-capitalism" "anti-big business" agenda. References to the Union, the Americans are not helpful. Club charging 29 quid is a rip off but £10 union dues is "modest". The press releases should focus on facts and leave out emotions. Recent criticism of a new signing before he had played is an example of fans owning club being a disaster. -

the ticket exchange idea the taking back of tickets from supporters clubs etc days of families going to games is gone and its sad. costs too much to bring two or three kids to a game. people will try and bring their kids to a couple of games a year now and skipping the beers before and after maybe when they go without the kids sport has become entertainment and business but rather than give out about it and mope we have to accept it. alternative is that the club ceases to exist/ceases to be able to compete corporates is where its at for every business - concerts/hotels/restaurants sport is now in the same category
