He's got at least two more years in him at the top level, maybe even more. He's become a fantastic playmaker.
-
Should have been 2-0, Jackson as per usual doing what he does best
-
They were never dropping points again, hopefully Newcastle can get a point at least next week.

Darwin appears to have walked fine but hopefully its minor if it is something in the end. Massive blow with Curtis and Jota out, especially Curtis because he's finally gotten a long run in the team, with no injuries and done so well. Hopefully Dom is back within the next ten days, we're running out of options in midfield. -

Jones is a bigger bloq, has been key for us in midfield and we are already bare in midfield. Jota has been brilliant but having Mo helps -

f***ing injuries -
You're not wrong. Just a bit deflating to be potentially facing them in a few weeks, without Ali, and Trent/Dom depending how their recoveries go. It makes it feel worse, for me at least, when you think about the two titles we lost out to them, by a whisker. [21/22, that non penalty against Rodri for instance] We're already doing much more than any other side to compete with them.
-
''Anything'' is hyperbole in that point, its an expression not quite meant to be literal, poor choice of words on my part. I understand what you're saying to counter that, my point is more about the difficulty of competing against City.
-
Of course, and at the same time multiple things can be true at once. It's not one or the other, just because we are able to buy a player for that amount [on the back of selling a player for 120 million to help fund some of that mind you], doesn't mean that things are going our way on the pitch when it comes to health and fitness. We had one season already at our peak, that completely derailed our season and ability to compete with the most financially doped side in the history of the sport Players that have missed games either to injuries/illness/personal matters and or international duty, this year [I may have forgotten someone] Salah Jota Nunez Gakpo Dom Thiago Bajcetic Macca Gravenberch Jones Trent Matip Robertson Tsimikas Konate Becker Doak Gomez Diaz Endo Virgil Bradley

Alisson has missed at least 30 games since the season we won the league. - The way I interpreted your post, as in post that season which was the season where he missed the most. Because he isn't the only player that is injured, I mean that's quite evident? It's not as if we've been spoiled for things going our way this season when it comes to setbacks. That was my point at the time, remains the same today, with his injury. It's not his injury in isolation which is making me say what I said, that's pretty clear. At this point I believe Van Dijk is the only player, that hasn't been injured this season.
-
No, I said since that season,
-
What's his price tag have to do anything? He's the best keeper in the world, and there is a significant difference between him and Kelleher. That aside, we're competing against two good sides, one which is financially doping, so any injury is a massive set back for us when competing against them particularly as now they [City] are fully fit and aren't missing their best players. Ali genuinely saves us around 10 points a season, shots he has no right saving, he often saves. This injury whilst already losing Trent, and Dom, just makes a very difficult task, even more difficult.
-
He's missed 16 games overall due to injury since that season when he was out for a bit.

You're going a bit over the top. He gets injuries more than most keepers, but he isn't out for a considerable amount of time. Last year he started in 47 games, and 54 the year before. Ironically he missed the most amount of time in our league winning season. -
At this point it's funny, I said a few weeks ago things don't go easy for us and someone was telling me, sure they do

Some teams start matches better, we end matches better, ultimately it doesn't matter, as long as you win at the end of the day and get the job done. Most teams bar Arsenal and City, can't put us under pressure or press for the duration of the game without tiring and being vulnerable. When they wear out, we pick them apart and take advantage of that, it's about being relentless for the entirety of the game. That aside, Jurgen and the coaching stuff have done a fantastic job making the right subs in most of our matches, it's helped us freshen things up and it's been a great tactical element of our game, even with injuries. It's ironic we're talking about this, considering that in our title winning season, we lead the league in late winners, and we had long stretches of winning matches by a 1 goal margin. -
Jurgen was never going there to begin with. He's a loyal man, having managed Dortmund, no way that happens.
-
I don't for a second believe that Bayern's board are composing a list of players, and by pure coincidence alone wanted to sign players from the Premier League this past summer [Paulinha,Kane,Dier,Trippier] But even if we agree that the managers don't buy players, their squad is vastly better than Leverkusen, who have outplayed them now twice this season. They just played a painfully below average lazio side, and got beat, while having better players. That too, Dortmund who have been bottling it every year since Klopp left. Even Kovac won the league with them [Bayern]!
-
They have a better squad than Leverkusen, its not even remotely close. That aside Tuchel has made weird decisions in the transfer market in the summer, I mean he just brought in Eric bleedin Dier who couldnt get a sniff at Spurs, and was desperate to bring Trippier, who has been God awful this season. They got knocked out by a 3rd league side in the league cup a few months back, despite playing most of their starters. Theres a huge chance they win feck all this year, and its not down to a lack of quality in their squad (thats not to say its their best squad but its anything but s***)
