  1. Alex is touch and go, possible to be involved in the squad but not training yet. Ali and Frimpong out for sure
  2. Agreed, we still have two difficult away games to Inter and Marseille
  3. Rodri was pretty average in his first season. Particularly his first 6 months at the club. Silva needed time to adjust, Odegaard was pretty inconsistent in his first season Let's see if Wirtz can turn things around, hopefully sooner rather than later
  4. This coming up block of games is probably the hardest they'll have for a while - Sunderland away - Spurs home - Bayern home - Chelsea away - Brentford home - VIlla away Then towards end of December - Everton away - Brighton home - VIlla home - Bmouth away - us at their place
  5. Booo. Hopefully he's back for City On another note can't play Madrid next season in this stage of the competition per some UEFA rule. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-real-madrid-champions-league-32799828
  6. dont see any of the keepers, usually they're doing their sessions separate from the rest.
  7. Training session starts soon, will be on YouTube, hopefully Isak,Jones and Ali are present
  8. Perhaps, but Macca being off form/injured, and Ryan not being available for that first game of the season really dictated what we did in midfield at the start. Still wish Mo had squared the ball for him v Frankfurt. A goal and 2 assists would have boosted his confidence more
  9. Well fine margins and all. We were the better side, but they hit the post in the first 5 minutes, and had that gone in, we would have conceded first again and the calm goes out the window. Same way it would have worked for us had we not hit the woodwork 3 times against the Mancs. Hopefully we build on this game and maintain resilience defensively
  10. The sky is blue. I know. You offered why you feel the way you do, I did the same. I don't know if it does, but not getting trounced at Anfield again in midweek leading up to it would help with the fragility of the side at the moment.
  11. Those 12 got a whole week off. You dont rotate and play a weakened side against Real Madrid unless you're Rodgers, which would explain everything then
  12. Agreed, helps with the absence of trents ability
  13. Correct, but you have to be strong on the ball ( you dont need to be built like Adama Traore) but all those players especially Silva arent soft as paper when theyre on the ball despite being of small stature. Thats something that Wirtz has to improve on if hes going to last here
  14. That was the reason we wanted a player like Wirtz, to provide goals and assists bc Dom in front of goal can do much better. Last night he had a very good chance. Given his position when he plays in that role and how often he finds himself in opp. box, he should be aiming to score 10 goals at minimum
  15. Wharton has the passing that Grav doesnt, thats why I think you can use them both for different reasons.
  16. Wharton and Rogers are two different players though. Rogers isnt a midfielder (6/8) he can play out wide but he thrives in behind the striker. We could use Wharton more, his ability to progress the ball in midfield, especially when pressed would be fantastic for us.
  17. We did that in midweek, worked like a treat. No thanks We need to build some confidence not take another step and get battered
  18. Virgil doesnt have to do much running compared to what we've asked Robbo to do in the same time period. Mo doesnt run back either at full pelt. He shown last year when he plays multiple games a week, it comes with a price.
  19. Id be fine with a draw. Theyre more disciplined off the ball under Alonso.
  20. Its not the age its the mileage in his legs having played in a high itensity side since 2017. The other problem is when he falls asleep on his marker, which is why he lost his place to begin with. But he is better attacking now so theres that.
  21. I watched a decent amount of their games anytime they played one of our rivals. He was good, they used him differently than we are, its obvious, even yesterday Robbo played a diff role than when Kerkez is on People have lost their heads. Its a weird criticism of the manager, who has made plenty of mistakes but last night was not that.
  22. We had a fairly decent level of play in the first 20 mins, there was a pass to Gakpo from Mo, which he headed in a decent position for Hugo who tried to control it with his foot rather than a diving header. Szobo had a shot not far off prior to that. Dom set up Robbo in the box who had a good volley blocked. It was better than any start we had in the last 6 games in the league. We kept getting into decent positions with our pressing but a pass short from getting as a clear chance as we would have liked Exactly and those players in midweek played like s***
  23. They had plenty of minutes in midweek and this wasnt a game to risk throwing the balance off. We saw the game out but a 2-0 lead has been a problem for us, had we been up 3/4 then Id say subs should have been brought on. Last night wasnt the time for it
  24. Yes, hes been s*** in all of them
  25. Who, Gomez,Endo,Chiesa? They just played in midweek and were abysmal. I understand what you're saying, but at the same time, you cant risk losing control of the game in a crucial period of the game by bringing on players who are out of sorts. If we were 3-0 up maybe one of them gets a chance, but 2-0 lead is no lead in the league especially for us
