  1. Your're doing it too. You can't describe events inaccurately and then present someone with a choice between non-existent realities. We stopped being that team you were talking about under Kenny. hope isn't only based on a few passing triangles. We do need to perform better as we go along. that last game was dire. we stay like that and your boy's gone. Who we replace him with, f*ck knows!
  2. Wenger's flawed idealism relates more to his recruitment. He stopped getting the players to play the football he wanted. I think his football has changed anyway for powerful units counter-attacking to this Barcalite stuff. But again players have been a huge part This isn't a point I want to spend too much time on as my main argument was that you can win stuff while not being Benitez and his way of doing things isn't the only way. Mourinho and Ferguson didn't do things the way Rafa did either. If the point is that point is that Rodgers can't get to where he wants to get to without compromising a possession based game with a high line and pressing then I don't know. Maybe. I don't know how Sacchi got there or Klopp. I saw Riijkaard build his team at Barca playing the same way. You love Bielsa, he wouldn't shift.
  3. Cos he was appointed to rebuild over a long period. No one was expecting anything. We've been rubbish for a bit now and yes I do know that Dalglish was a genius in the cups last season.
  4. I'm broadly supportive of Rodgers but said this before the start of the game about the team so yeah I think there are errors being made. Not that I know anything about football. When you were referencing Mourinho and Ferguson are you just reffering to people who rafa competed with directly?
  5. I make you right. But to get to the point where that is a possibility he would have had to drag us up. That's when it would get interesting. I don't think saying I don't want to sack a promising manager half way through a season is a cop out. I think we're in a weird place when someone is arguing it is. I'm not buying this Hodgson angle that you and a lot are driving at
  6. I think we had to play Gerrard deeper and Aquilani at the point. I can only really think of Pompey and A. Madrid when we did it but it looked good 01/02? Football existed before Rafa, alongside Rafa and since Rafa was here. People were winning stuff left right and centre not being Rafa.
  7. Huh. Isn't that what everyone has? Otherwise you'd be sacked in advance of being sacked or sacked after you'd been sacked or some mentalistness. I don't know that there are any options out there for them to get it right with. All the best options won't come. We had a chance in the summer didn't take it and our trying to make our own salami to some degree as we can't afford the top stuff.
  8. Rafa would find something that worked and then rip it up. 05/06 was grand with Gerrard wide so let's go get some wingers and buy two strikers instead of the one world class killer we needed. end of 07/08 Gerrard and Torres born as a double act being fed by Xabi, Babel developing nicely so lets try and get Barry, shift Alonso sign Riera and Keane instead of sorting the balance on the right. I won't go into the changes the following summer as there was more going on and I don't think he wanted Alonso shot at that stage.
  9. hmmm we hardly played Aquilani though. There was loads of Lucas and Masch. .I'd agree entirely with that. There appears to be a lot of WWRD and defaulting to that
  10. I agree that it's f*cked up but didn't Martinez more or less suggest conspiracy. You're never gonna survive saying that
  11. Yeah. Just wish they'd just say it. It's only the internet. Nothing's gonna happen to them
  12. Suso was playing better than Shelvey who was so bad. so very very bad. However sticking him in the middle against that lot may have seen him disappear.
  13. There's more to keeping than shot-stopping and Reina's willingness on a couple of occassions to come and collect probably helped in some peoples' eyes. I'm actually more with you in that he doesn't really make top saves anymore. Top keepers make more top saves than he has done for a while.
  14. Benitez managed the changed the balance well during the 08/09 season or do you think that was just supreme counter attacking football by the end of the season. We changed the balance in the full back area the following season or do you think there was a more fundamental pushing up of the defence which left Carra and Skrtel exposed.
  15. I 100% would have got Rafa in the summer (if we had to get rid of Kenny that is) but we are where we are and if you charicature the choices as the above then you can never be satisfied with anything other than your own way
  16. Yeah it all fell for us and we f*cked it. Really? Not a touch of over compensation in that? Nu uh!
  17. I don't know that we needed more of Dunphy and Giles' "moral courage". I saw plenty that made me think "FFS just tvvat it". We needed a plan so that we could implement it better. We needed to be able to get out better. Think we surprised them when the first ball went to Suarez. They weren't ready for that and squeezed up in anticipation of them making a fast start thumping the tiki out of our taka. We also needed to be prepared to win the battles and a better way of dealing with how they attack.
  18. i figured it had something to do with the irish accent
  19. Cam which of your systems do you think gets Suso in. Because although he's not ready yet, if your football can't get a lad like him in then you're in trouble
  20. Yeah but even we got way more points but they were horribly scrapped points where the refs gave us 3 undeserved pens each game and ruled out ten opposition goals each half then you Logic, RBM, Flight, MFletcher and whoever would have a new bedfellow. You don't want that cos a) we really would be awful b) I take up a lot of space and fart a lot
  21. I dunno. Not sure if at this stage you can start putting numbers on everything. I'm happy to acknowledge that we can't lose every game and have the footballing gods think "this is good". I'm as mired in the reality of this as everyone else I just think that this route bears as likely an escape than any other viable option.
  22. I didn't say that. I just don't know yet. None of us can reasonably know yet. I wanna find out.

  24. He could set them up to do it better though. I obviously don't know what happens in training but passing out doesn't just occur. It's got to be a case of "you stand here and you stand here and if the opposition do 'x' hit em up with some 'y'"
  25. That's really selective on the Newcastle story and you've just dismissed half the case. This is the ridiculous thing though. Through use of hyperbole you've got me pointing out flaws in Dalglish who i didn't want sacked in the first place and who is one of the people connected with my club who I hold most dearly.
