A very interesting case are Darlington, who can use only 10,000 seats of the 25,000 capacity of the new stadium, because of these regulations.

I am not sure about the exact amounts needed to create an infrastructure capable of supporting a 70,000-seater stadium in the Anfield area, but I do know that the City of Munich and the Bavarian state have invested over €200+ million in area development and infrastructure improvements around the Allianz Arena, a stadium with a similar capacity. Managing 70,000 people without the proper infrastructure could be a very nasty business. We of all people should know better.

I don't think that Charlie Adam has the quality to be a starter at a club like LFC. He would probably do well at a club like Everton or Newcastle, but at LFC we need a top class play-maker, at the level of Xabi Alonso. I like the idea of Javi Martinez, but I am not sure we could afford him.

Not really. Look at Arsenal's numbers (£60 million increase in match-day revenue) and you will see that the £40 million increase in match-day revenue I have projected for LFC is actually pretty realistic. Impossible due to transport and infrastructure problems. Unless the City of Liverpool, or the club itself, invest huge amounts of money in infrastructure, we could never go above 60,000. Personally, from what I have seen of the Anfield area, I think that even the 60,000 capacity would create severe problems.

I wouldn't say that we have wasted our transfer funds. In fact, the only poor transfer was the purchase of Charlie Adam, since we have already had the better player in Aquilani. Suarez is an absolute beast. Enrique and Downing are proven Premier League performers. Carroll, Henderson and Coates are the ones for the future. Bellamy and Doni are solid backups. Overall, I would say that our spending has been pretty solid.
