Essentially one of our senior players has a minimum release fee clause for a non PL club who is in the Champions league. You can no doubt who this player is but just shows how vulnerable we are to lose our best player in the summer. Anyway this isn't a transfer thread.

For what it's worth, Kenny was offered some role upstairs, no idea if it was a nonsense role but back in Jan I was told by someone close to the situation hat FSG wanted Rodgers in as manager and move Kenny upstairs. I basically laughed as we were bang in the mix for 4th with Suarez coming back but oh well. Hearing more worrying things but lets see of they come to fruition.

The reality is that Steven Gerrard is 10x better in performing the "Joe Allen" role then Joe Allen is. Steven was never a classic no10 and with his athleticism declining a bit playing him a tad deeper makes sense - however surround him with younger legs such as Lucas and Shevley/Hendo and Gerrard can dominate. Allen at this stage of his career cannot dominate a game the way Gerrard can.

I'm from the financial circles and Nashnismvery well respected. He sorted out the stadium financing for arsenal which I know well so whatever the reason is I think he is a loss. I expect him to be replaced by a guy FSG are familiar with from the US

What we need ideally is a version of Brazil's Emerson who played well into his 30s for Milan and Madrid. I guess van bommel is the closest fit but he won't be coming to England any time soon...so the next best thing would be to pair Hendo with a Diame type - I think those 2 would have complemented well in Lucas' absence and I think that is what Kenny was trying to do. In our midfield Henderson is useful as the engine man box to box...if we need him to hold then pair him with another box to box type like Diame.
