Very true - but when the fans scapegoats soon follow (Aquilani and Insua) and with more apparantly attempted to be moved on (Lucas, Babel etc) then it is pretty clear that whoever was making these decisions at the club had at least one eye on public opinion. When questioned on the dismissal of Rafa, didn't Broughton say as much?

Like most things - without its cheerleaders, not much actually happens. Do you think the people who actually sacked Rafa and brought in Hodgey did not guage fan opinion before doing so? If everybody on forums, tv, radio, print etc had said 'no', Rafa would still be here - which is obviously good or bad depending on your point of view.

No, and it wasn't particularly pleasent either. There were a few games where people were singing 'Souness Out' and it kicked off a little - not like hundreds or anything but between individuals. I remember a friendly at Wrexham pre-season and it got a bit, erm, tasty.

I'm with Maldini on this one. Just because somebody is better than Hodgey doesn't mean that he is the right man or even close to being the right man for us. But then again, I am partially swayed by the argument that we get anybody in other than this weapon. But more turmoil at the club and yet another short term position? Not ideal. I was dead against Kenny under G+H but at present I would give it to Kenny. Let him have until the end of the season, no pressure, and if he fancies it full time after that then he gets it. Simple as that. No f***ing Kenny about with this caretaker business. He will let us know if he feels he is up to it.
