Agreed and that has been my concern for a while now - who are advising NESV and what are they telling them? I'm sure they are very intelligent people who want to make a success out of this but there are still an awful lot of people out there possibly interested only in covering their own backs. If NESV spoke to the manager, senior players, Purlsow, Broughton, other managers, other chairman, looked at the press etc - my guess would be that the overiding opinion would be that Hodgson was doing a sterling job at clearing up the mess that Rafa left behind and that he should be given more time. If the senior official from yesterday is briefing them that there are a couple of militant SOS members causing trouble and the rest are just blindly following, at what point do they call bulls***? I think the penny has certainly dropped by now but those months of bulls*** advice will cost us dearly. Hence no contingency plan. Edit - I said last season that this was going to get worse and I still think it will now. When NESV finally get to the bottom of this f***ing mess, there is going to be huge fallout.

A day or two? It's gonna take us years to get over the damage that he and his buddies have inflicted on this club.

I'm a firm believer that the fans played a small but significant role in removing G+H from the club. And I'm a firm believer that fans had a role in the removal of Rafa Benitez from this club too. There was enough discontent to allow them (Purlsow, Broughton, whoever) to do so without having to worry too much about what may result.

Very true - but when the fans scapegoats soon follow (Aquilani and Insua) and with more apparantly attempted to be moved on (Lucas, Babel etc) then it is pretty clear that whoever was making these decisions at the club had at least one eye on public opinion. When questioned on the dismissal of Rafa, didn't Broughton say as much?

Like most things - without its cheerleaders, not much actually happens. Do you think the people who actually sacked Rafa and brought in Hodgey did not guage fan opinion before doing so? If everybody on forums, tv, radio, print etc had said 'no', Rafa would still be here - which is obviously good or bad depending on your point of view.

And back to last season when the issue of sacking Rafa was brought up and the question put to those who wanted him sacked was 'Do you want somebody like Purslow to choose the next manager of Liverpool Football Club?". Unfortunately, far too many people said 'yes'. And this is what happens.

No, and it wasn't particularly pleasent either. There were a few games where people were singing 'Souness Out' and it kicked off a little - not like hundreds or anything but between individuals. I remember a friendly at Wrexham pre-season and it got a bit, erm, tasty.
