  1. That could lead them into a whole heap of trouble if true. BBC and ITV have both been fined for csimilar abuse by Ofcom
  2. This is the organisation that appeals Rooney's decision against UEFA so double standards and hypocrisy is nothing new to them
  3. Did I read it that Evra abused Luis or am I imagining that bit
  4. This will open a whole can of worms
  5. We are dealing with the fa here I think we are f***ed
  6. The FA should also charge Fulham football club for failing to control their fans
  7. Jeez
  8. .
  9. Oh they have been excellent over the last few years nevertheless it still aggravates me. Losing this game arguably helps them more than winning it helps us. Tippy tappy football is seductive and easy on the eye but the downside is it tends to lead to over elaboration and waste - admittedly they weren't helped by having Torres upfront but they are not quite as perfect as is sometimes portrayed. We probably wont beat them again in a competetiive match but a team with an equally well marshalled defence and a more potent midfield will That Alonso article from the Guardian best stuff i've read in ages http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/nov/11/xabi-alonso-spain-england-interview
  10. Love the result. Sick and tired of the gross adulation of Spanish football. Spain are good, very good at times, but they do love themselves an awful lot and maybe this is as good a result for them as it will be for us. Don't share the snidey back hander comments about England either, some people have issues I guess. Perhaps we should poppies every match. Parker was excellent, Jones should have signed for us and we didn't capitulate. Torres...... what has happened and one last thing, Spain wanted this - ha!
  11. adams more a concern equally immobile and a fraction of the influential player he was at blackpool
  12. I'm not entirely sure but I think it was something the club (United) itself tried to impose not the FA. Ferguson, obviously bigger than the club, has chosen to ignore it. I think it came after criticism that he was not backing his player enough
  13. Its the ruling elite's attitude to ordinary people - arrogance and contempt - especially if you have the temerity to question them
  14. As Evra claims the remark was made on 10 separate occasions then surely any lack of evidence damns his case
  15. Its fine to talk about not knee jerking, about injuries and that players and systems need time to bed in but the whole point of this transfer window was to strengthen the squad and the whole point about paying a premium for bringing in british players is that they would be familiar with the league and would hit the ground running to an extent Well we hit the ground ok its the running bit that is a bit of a disappointment, but Spurs are still a very good team particularly at WHL and so its difficult to really draw any purposeful conclusions. What is clear is that Dalglish and Clarke have a lot to work on over the next couple of weeks
  16. There is no general conspiracy amongst officials against the club - my guess is maybe thats just a case of Dalglish instilling a bit of siege mentality within the club The general standard of refereeing in the premier league is poor, perhaps not as poor as some would make out but by and large inexcusable if the officials continue to demand players show them repect Referees should account for their decisions post match - personally I would like to see Clattenberg explain away some of his decisions made yesterday and maybe the thought of having to do that would make him and others up their game and not be so sloppy One other thing, the poor decisions are random and dont necessarily equal themselves out over the season but we are not the only fans who believe we are being mugged whilst others get special treatment In summary No vendetta against the club but standards have not kept up with the development of the game and referees are not sufficiently called to task over it. I dont think the answer is for Kenny to get all arsey over it as the media will simply twist it around as they have done before and the central point will be lost. The answer maybe in the form of new technology but the most important immediate step would be to get referees on the tv after the match to explain their decision making process on the contentious issues. If they know they will need to explain themselves it may help to sharpen up their own game and might bring more respect from the players on the field but lets please cut out the victimisation bit, its already a rod which others beat us with

    Gerrard

Gerrard is coming back to a very different team to the one he was familiar with and one with a very different feel to it. He's getting older of course but I think (I believe) we could see an even better player this season. Its another good vibe about a club finally sorting itself out. Dead positive about this news
  18. would be finished unless we could shift some out was the general gist I believe which we are starting to do
  19. Stuart Pearce is straight out of the Roy Hodgson school of football. Too rigid, too traditional. We are still a couple of steps behind the Spanish and its not just about technique either Its fine by me to put an emphasis on going for young english talent but when they go to the international side and get coaching from the likes of him, you have to wonder whether its worth it
  20. The money clubs are beginning to expect from us is a bit of a concern, but its the premium you pay for young talented british players. If thats what Dalglish wants you've got to accept that its going to continue. On the positive side if it all fits together we will have a strong premier league side who could potentially dominate the league for some considerable time to come - much like the emergence of the young british players in the united side of the nineties In which case I would call that being "back in business" and thats clearly the ambition
  21. well as i said before its mainly idle chat amongst spurs fans, but as i also said there are other sources which point to a less than flattering account of his ability to negotiate and develop relationships with the people he deals with. Blackpool certainly were miffed about the way we approached Adam, well that may just be a small club inferiority complex, but I also read a press report about Commoli's 2nd spell at St Etienne which seemed to have generated a certain amount of acrimony particularly with Etiennes co director. Everything is probably incidental and maybe his way of dealing with clubs is exagerated through jealousy, but if it starts to work against us its something that is worthy of bearing in mind. Personally I think I'd prefer to see Dalglish with more control (a la Benitez)
  22. No, its mainly idle chat although my friend who follows Spurs has no particular axe to grind with us. Commoli may be good for us, perhaps we need someone a bit more aggressive in dealing with other clubs, whether it works for you or against you is something only time and judgement will really tell, but Blackpool certainly dug their heels in over the Adam thing
  23. Oddly enough I was talking to a friend of mine who is a long suffering Spurs supporter, I'd spoken previously to him about Christian Purslow and his behaviour at the Club, the underhand dealings with the press, his relationship with Benitez etc and his reaction when he heard that Commoli had turned up at Liverpool was that we had simply replaced one b*****d for another. and I don't bother with twitter if the above reference is aimed at me and I'm not purslow either, but if you want to continue to behave like a complete s*** carry on
  24. Maybe a blessing as I keep hearing that Commoli's burning bridges with other clubs like there's no tomorrow Hear it once you dismiss it as idle chat, hear it from a number of different people and you start getting a bit edgy
  25. as Mr Benitez once remarked, "its not about getting the best table leg, its about getting one that fits the table" Maybe Downing is a better fit?
