  2. Re: Krygiakos/however you spell his name Read a profile/story about him on 101greatgoals earlier. Apparently he's considered a bit injury prone (after a massive knee injury that forced him out of Euro 2004), but is definitely mental. There were links to some videos involving him decking Giovanni and going absolutely spare on the bench and getting sent off without being on the field. I love him already. Good news about the Times guy saying we're going to have money available, but I really hope that isn't just for this deal...
  3. That's neglecting the fact that Hull and Stoke were talking ridiculous figures for Shawcross and Turner, who, though young - although Turner is 25, isn't he? - and decent, will never be good enough to play as first choice at Liverpool. So he's gone for a cheaper option who is apparently good in the air and strong - something we lack. And he's expericned, to boot. We know barely anything about how this player so people jumping all over it are being a bit over the top, he's here to supplement the 3 we already have and to be a squad player and Rafa obviously thinks he can do that job. If people don't think Rafa have money i don't think it should be because we've signed a squad player rather than an over-priced English player.
  4. Ryan Babel's music career will mean he can lend us a few quid to sign some players. Sotirios Kyrgiakos looks f*cking hard. Alberto Aquilani looks immense.
  5. Beautiful. http://jetzt.sueddeutsche.de/img/jetztsamm...s-Kyrgiakos.jpg
  6. If all the doom and gloom is right, is it possible we're financing this deal with money from a Voronin to Hertha deal? I heard a statement from Hertha saying they were in for him again.
  7. He seems good at scoring against Norway. Always handy.
  8. Obviosuly not first choice, but if he can do a job then so be it. Apparently some Greek guy on TIA has said he hates him and doesn't want him to sign, make what you will of that. He seems big and physical, which is something we're missing, tbh.
  9. Not actually related to that post, but you DO realise you DON'T have to post in reply to EVERYTHING, right?
  10. Yeah. Apparently he used to play for Rangers. Don't remember him, mind. Was he part of the Greek team in '04?
  11. Sotirios Kyrgiakos. I can't even say it let alone judge him.
  12. Who the f*ck is this guy? And was the Cotton qoute from weeks ago or today?
  13. Mascherano has it in his locker. We were just sloppy.
  14. Does sound like something he'd do. But to be fair, I don't really see who was ommited from the bench aside from Degen. And he can f*ck off.
  15. This comp. has made me pretty excited http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BE_qH5hb7A...player_embedded
  16. So your solution is to drop Gerrard as a second striker and play Pacheco against a team that's going to spend 90 minutes having ten players in the penalty area kicking the f*** out of us. Good that.
  17. Its because we've tried to instill a sense of tactical discipline and a brain into him, but he doesn't have one. And now every time he gets the ball he's like a dear in headlights because he's trying to think of what to do, whereas originally he just ran on instinct, namely run infield and t*at with his right. But that only works 1 out of 10 times at the very most. He should be trained as an out and out forward and be the back up to Torres.
  18. Both are valid points.
  19. The single stupidest thing i've ever heard.
  20. PS: please be wrong. If you could arrange that for me, that'd be super.
  21. Atta boy.
  22. That's ridiculously OTT. It's the first day of the season and the entire team looked rusty. Saying that Carragher is a liabilty is absolutely prepostorous.
  23. Name them.
  24. Ah, I misread it. Yeah, I wouldn't have a problem with Benayoun being allowed to play in the whole. I still don't want to see Gerrard as the lynchpin, as some has said, he can't play the metronome role, he plays in explosive intervals. If he is the one who is meant to be the meteronome he'll try and be explosive all the time, and 90% of the time it won't work. I don't think Gerrard dropping back was the sole reason for our better performance in the second half, it only really made any difference to how we were playing when Spurs dropped back really deep and weren't pushing forward. The difference was made by Yossi.
