  1. I don't mean to come across disrespectful, I just find myself very angry at him 99% of the time.
  2. The same Hyypia that Benitez didn't put in the CL Squad the other season, and the same Alonso Benitez wanted to sell? Regardless we have Carra, Agger and Skrtel for those positions, and we replaced Alonso with Aquilani.
  3. But we won't finish second, and I hope we win the UEFA Cup. FWIW I think Rafa can get us out of this, but I just can't see him being able to win the league under us regardless of ownership. I think we'll always have a fatal flaw in our squad and his management.
  4. Of course it's okay, it's your opinion. I just think it's incredibly one track.
  5. Maybe they do, but let me just add that without Alonso last year we beat Man United 4-1 away, we also smacked them at home as well without Torres and a fit Gerrard. We also beat many big teams without fit key players. They lost the best player in the world, almost 40 goals a season he scored a while back, and they lost an exceptional player in Tevez. They replaced them with a winger from Wigan and a freebie striker. We spent £37 Million on our replacements, to my knowledge more than United did. That's not to say I expect us to be top right now, I just don't expect us to be in the position we are in. Never write off that lot ffs, never.
  6. If we finish 4th, we'll be debating transfers and money and people will claim he has over achieved.
  7. So Ferguson has overachieved?
  8. Well maybe Cobs doesn't agree. I've been telling everyone for ages Rafa should be sacked WHY AREN'T YOU LISTENING TO ME?
  9. Ah so it's okay for you to make claims but not me? *Sigh*
  10. Then isn't that Rafa's job to put their minds right? Mentality and all that?
  11. Plenty 3 seasons since 2005, and back in 2002 as well.
  12. How many times have we said that about United though? Surely too many times to know better.
  13. Thick? There is no one more appropriate to talk about Liverpool than Aldo. He loves this club, and he watches us week in week out. He's far from thick, and knows his onions. Anyway, FWIW I don't think that interview was conducted till after the Pompey game. Thats what Pako said about Benitez signing Babel for that much, then he got sacked. £20 Million on a player who started 50 games in three seasons is all a good definition of being off 'ones head'. Maybe he really rates Beckford, I mean Cahill has been an inspired buy by David Moyes, and he came from a lower division. Not that I want Beckford.
  14. Last year they where worse than the year before last... They are going to win the league again, and you will still have people criticising him signing Berbatov despite winning the league. I am not in anyway supporting the mancs, or indeed hoping they will win. It's just if I expect them to win everything I won't be suicidal if they do.
  15. I do listen to them, I just don't agree with them. Aldo is boss though, anyone who doesn't see he has the clubs best interests at heart need to re-evaluate their life. I usually disagree with him as well. Anyway the comment about Kevin Davies is more telling about our position, than indeed Aldo.
  16. Should we only listen to Liverpool Legends when they say something we agree with? I'm expecting Anny Road to say he got leathered with John Barnes soon, and that we should all listen to him.
  17. He's half decent
  18. 1. I won't lie, I was backing Rafa's decision I remember saying Alonso's future is in question because he's been s***, and I then got slagged off for it. But now it's revisionist time because Rafa f***ed up. 1-0 me...Huzzah 2. Anderson and Nani are f***ing s***, and Berbatov has been a waste of money, and he still managed to win the league 3 times on the bounce. Ronaldo scored something f***ing stupid like 38 goals the other season and scored a fair few last. His impact was massive. Never write off the mancs, never never never. He's not getting sacked because we can't afford it. I knew the debt would come back to bite us in the a***
  19. The management just gave him a 5 year contract and won't sack him/can't sack him or whatever. Yes there has been problems, does he think he will get it any f***ing better at Madrid? Ferguson has got leeway because he is one of the greatest managers of modern times, and Wenger, well I care very little. It's all down to expectation, we all know what he hasn't got. Lets focus on what he has got, and where we are now.
  20. And people still criticise him for signing Berbatov
  21. No of course not, I'm just saying I feel that the fans are projecting a lack of ambition because of the owners, which has a knock on effect on the pitch. Thats not to say fans aren't arsed about our current situation. I just think we are projecting this to the fans and players. 'f*** this we can't do anything, we need more money'
  22. Who is going to the pub for this?
  23. I was too busy drowning my sorrows. Anyway I think Cobs et all have raised some good points in this thread. The tendency to find any excuse to blame the owners for what goes wrong on the pitch, is pretty pointless considering they would be c**** no matter what they do. The more I read the more I find fans trying to pin everything on the owners, not that there is anything wrong with that of course, I just think it's used as ammunition rather than anything else. No doubt we should have invested more in our squad this year, but we didn't. Take the net spend argument out of the equation and apart from Hyypia we replaced both Arbeloa and Alonso with £37 Million worth of talent. The season prior we wasted £27 Million, and spent half the summer wasting our time chasing a player Villa weren't going to sell, and all the while disrupting a player which would become key to us. This summer no one really strengthened apart from City. Man United replaced Tevez and Ronaldo with a winger from Wigan and an injury prone relegated freebie with a s*** brochure. So let me just clear that up, Manchester United replaced an Argentinian International, and the best player in the world with a winger from Wigan and an injury prone journey man on a free. They only spent about £20 Million on Valencia out of the £80 Million they got for Ronaldo. They didn't strengthen, they went backwards. We spent £36 Million on a defender and injury prone midfielder and we are f***ing s*** again. Chelsea only bought Zhirkov to my knowledge (sp), and Arsenal only bought Vermhalen, they probably bought some minor players but I can't recall any major improvements to their squad. (sp) We replaced our Right Back with a young English International in Johnson, and Alonso with a £20 Million Injury Prone midfielder, by Benitez's choice of course. But we replaced them with quality. We knew Aquilani was injured and the way we handled that situation was damn right ridiculous. money had nothing to do with it, the two holding midfield players screwed us up and his refusal to play 4-4-2 with Gerrard back in midfield cost us IMO. Thats a whole other discussion all together. Here is a s*** analogy for you. Benitez Baconface Wenger Ancelotti are all baking a cake in class. Baconface has all the ingredients Wenger has some of the ingredients Ancelotti has more than enough Benitez, because his Mum is a biff doesn't have enough of all the ingredients, but he does have some. In a huff he throws his ingredients across the room and won't cook. His teacher turns around and says 'Look you can still bake a cake, just because you have less ingredients doesn't mean you...f*** it this is a s*** analogy. I guess my point is that you can only do the best with what you have and what you have had. Have we done the best? No we haven't, have we done half decent? No we haven't. We haven't done anything, we've sat on our own hands blamed the owners for absolutely everything and went into IMO a mad depression spiral where we are ignoring what is going on the pitch, I'm not saying the owners aren't a problem they clearly are they are the biggest cancer at this club. But just because we didn't invest in our squad, doesn't mean we should be where we are now does it? United, Chelsea and Arsenal didn't all improve so much that we are now in the position we are did they? The biggest problem currently right now facing us, is that as I said, some fans are seemingly ignoring what is going on on the pitch, we cannot allow ourselves as a club, and Benitez can't allow himself as a manager to dwell on what we haven't got, he should focus on what we have got, it's his job to get the most out of his players. Last season, he nearly did that, and no I'm not saying we should have sacked him. You can point to money, but money doesn't indicate the quality of the squad, nor does it indicate the tactics used, mistakes made and strokes of genius performed. We've got to stop looking at money, and look at what we see infront of us. Baconface brought on some no mark the other day, and they are still climbing the league, had that been us you can virtually guarantee that it would be used as ammunition against the owners, and deflected the blame off Rafa. In short Focus on what we have got, rather than what we haven't Stop using money as a barometer of expectation United, Chelsea and Arsenal didn't spend so much more than us that we should be fighting with Birmingham The owners are the cancer of this club, we don't need to blame them for anymore than the promises they have broke. Yes we didn't invest heavily in our squad, but we replaced key players and handled the injury of one them as bad as a one armed juggler. If anything we stood still over the summer, but our expectations didn't drop to where they are today because of what happened in the summer and United certainly didn't strengthen to the point where they would be seemingly light years ahead of us. Oh and yeah I still want to get rid of Rafa.
  24. Goes with transfers as well. The Yossi signing was a masterstroke, the Pennant one was because we didn't have the money. This season has been one massive let down.
