An Evening with Alan Hansen? That sounds like ******* torture to me!

I've even found myself hitting the mute button when he's on MOTD!

It was one of his "leadership and motivational" speeches with lots of football analogies.

He said he was doing one of them for Deutsche Bank in Barcelona during our Champions League win.

An Evening with Alan Hansen? Does that include dinner and movie and then back to his place?

I want to know the story of 'the scar'. Always have ever since the old onion bag mag :rip: printed a cutout Hansen scar

Plate glass window at the golf club, when he was a lad.

It made its first appearance as a nasty gash when we played Genoa away in 92 (?). He was doing a spot of punditry but nobody including the interviewer took the slightest bit of notice of what he said, just stared at this big slice in his forehead.

I'm afraid I can't look at Hansen in the same light recently. His comments about Benitez last season were way off the mark when he said it was the worst Liverpool team for 10 years - and that wasn't just media spin either. I sat in a meeting with him and one other Liverpool fan and talk ended up at Liverpool and both myself and the other red reeled off many teams that were worse (like all of Souness's) and he wouldn't have it. He had blinkers on completely when it came to Rafa and was absolutely scathing about GH's time at LFC (including when we had won trophies).

3 1/2 months later we were European Champions.

He often said in interviews that he is overcritical towards liverpool overcompensating for his bias, also as a fan sometimes he gets very frustrated and unfortunatley his rants unlike most is not heard down the pub over a glass but to the whole nation so **** on the internet can rip him appart and accuse him of being a ********.

For me he is a liverpool legend who also fell in love with the city and also a fan who wants to see us suceed more than anything.

so you had some common ground then?

:D I wasn't thinking that when we were winning a treble though. Only the last couple of years. Hansen thought it all along.
