Chelsea forum

Moaning at being out numbered in pubs in London and blaming our families for not having a football history so we went for the most sucessful club at the time in the 80's. Maybe true but a quarter of a century of continued support says a lot about the club we love!

Oh and yes, most people in my local in Surrey supported....you guessed it! :D

What it ACTUALLY is, is that all the other people in the pub who WEREN'T Chelsea supporters now support whoever the other team is these days.

Everyone I talk to about football these days cannot stand them. I had supporters from Spurs, Arsenal, and even Man Utd wishing us well on Saturday.

NO ONE LIKES THEM.

OK, there may have been a few LFC shirts in there (good lads) but even neutrals and the rest would have been supporting us. Next week, when they play someone else, my bet is he comes across a load of their supporters in his local too.

That Chelsea thread is ironic on all so many levels.

1 - It proves we ARE a big club, bigger than them

2 - Where the hell do they think they are attracting their new support from

I turned up at an english pub in st gallen (remember when they kncoked chelsea out of the uefa cup a few years ago?) 15 minutes before kickoff to find that their SKY was not working. Cue mad dash down autobahn to Paddy O Briens in Winterthur to watch the match. Everyone watching the match was for Liverpool and all were Swiss except me.

As an exiled scouser who's lived in NE Surrey/SW London for more years than I care to remember I can say with confidence that Chelsea have a fairly modest fanbase. I would suggest that, in no particular order, the following have a greater fanbase in and around London than the chavs: Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham, Palace

Liverpool have a massive fanbase in the SE, which I don't think is fully appreciated by our Merseyside-based fans. I see more people in LFC tops around Croydon/Sutton than Chelsea on an average day

all that stuff about "they wouldn't dare to wear their LFC colours in West London" is b******s

Funny. Everytime I have been to Notting Hill Carnival there is only one team's colours that the 'yoots' wear and that is, of course, Liverpool.

Lovely sight, some young girl in the Red shirt.

Spot on. Everybody hates Chelsea, in a way that I don't think even United were hated by other fans, because there was always the (irritating) fact that eh likes of Beckham, Scholes, Gigss, the sisters etc had all come through the system. It's hard not to recognise that.

Chelsea are just loathed by everyone. Mates of mine from all different clubs were telling me they wanted liverpool to win. Hell a couple of my mates who are United fans said they wanted us to beat Chelsea and get to the final. When I said that was a bit surprising, they did clarify that they thought us beating Chelsea and then getting absolutely dicked by West Ham or boro in the final would be their ideal scenario. About what you'd expect really, but the sentiment was there.

That thread is actually quite funny:

Liverpool have all these supporters everyone likes to follow us cos we win things.

Chelsea have less support cos nobody likes a team who win things.

They've all been going to mourinho classes while we watch our Istanbul dvd's. They're dullards.

When I lived in Leicester, it was either Man United shirts, Arsenal or Leicester. Saw a few Liverpool ones, but they were in the minority. However one year you couldn't move for Blackburn Rovers shirts.

Makes me laugh when they say they were in their 20 and thirties and started to support us in the eighties and are glory hunters. So they must have been between the ages of 0 and 10 and have supported us for over 20 years how can these be described as glory hunters.

With no evidence whatsoever, they blame our lot for all the grafitti and damage to the manc bogs. What w*****s. Bet it was them who done it. Any red a member of that site tell the chavs to f*** off and blame them instead. We have as much evidence of their part in the vandalism as they do of ours.
