The Stereophonics

Not a bad album - stipped back sound, well mixed (apart from Kelly's between song banter - of course, he could be mumbling) and a fairly good overview of their career without the ones that have been played to death.

Couple of 'rare' tracks given an airing as well - which is nice.

Makes a pleasant change for a live album to actually have the crowd well up in the mix too. Heard a couple recently (Queen Adreena and Korn if I recall) where the crowd sounded more like a slightly noisy party nextdoor-but-one

I refuse to believe that the Stereophonics are capable of producing an album (live or otherwise) that raises itself above the standard of "steaming pile of s****", let alone as high as "not bad".

:D

Knew you wouldn't be able to resist

Can I submit the following as a late entry for Worst Ever Lyrics:

You line them up, look at your shoes,

You hang names on your wall, then you shoot them all,

You fly around in planes that bring you down, to meet me,

Who loves you? like me crashing to the ground,

Are you so lonely? you don't even know me,

But you'd like to stone me,

Mr. Writer, why don't you tell it like it is?

Why don't you tell it like it really is?

Before you go on home,

I used to treat you right, give you my time,

But when I turned my back on you,

Then you do what you do,

You've just enough, in my own view, education to perform,

I'd like to shoot you all,

And then you go home, with you on your own,

What do you really know?

Mr. Writer, why don't you tell it like it is?

Why don't you tell it like it really is?

Before you go on home,

And then you go home, with you on your own,

What do you even know?

Mr. Writer, why don't you tell it like it is?

Why don't you tell it like it really is?

Before you go on home,

Mr. Writer, why don't you tell it like it really is?

Why don't you tell it like it always is?

Before you go on home.

Mr. Writer, why don't you tell it like it really is?

Why don't you tell it like it always is?

Before you go on home.

Waaaah! Mum, they gave me a bad review!

You could just imagine the staff of the NME and Melody Maker pissing themselve laughing at him. Which just made me hate him even more - the thought of hime giving any pleasure to that shower of c***s.

:applause: how any band can be t***ish enough to claim that their ordinariness and boringness is their greatest asset is beyond me. We know you're a bunch of tedious kahnts, we agree, no need to go on tryin to prove it to us.

Neither. Slight hyperbole.

More life in a tramp's vest, Word gets around, local boy in a photograph have all got very good lyrics. All make a great case for write about what you know.

I'd agree with that

To be fair, he stuck to tht rule for Mr Writer ;)
