We look to be in a good position. Ponting won the toss on a damp wicket and elected top bat. They lost debutant Jaques early for two (Pollock) before a big partnership with Ponting and Hayden. 150 odd for one and then they collapsed in a heap, limping t0 238/8 at the close. "allrounder" symonds got a 1st ball duck. Pollock has 3 wickets and Nel 4. The not out batters are Hussey and Mcgill who will only start batting tomorrow as Lee was out off the last ball.

A good day for SAffers :cooler:

1st Day shows why England is a big chance for the Ashes next year

Our batsmen are flat track bullies, so used to the roads our curators have been preparing for the past couple of seasons, nowadays if they'd on a deck that remotely does a bit or the ball swings, they s*** themselves

England would've killed us yesterday on that deck
