Mobile phone + pricing question

Recommended Posts

anyone know a service provider who has good deals for international calling / texting?

I'm looking to go to a contract phone but I can't find a decent pricing plan :hmm:

most seem to have outrageous costs for calling or some sort of calling card method thing..

doesn't really work out cheaper than PAYG...but i need a new handset :(

what phone are you after.. generally Orange are cheaper for local calls.. dont use mobiles for international calls full stop.. some phones like P910is can load pin nos. phone cards etc and it will cheaper to have a look at them..

as for international texting it will be bloody expensive and is not included in the free text messages etc..

it's probably handier for me to have a contract phone - no hassles about running out of credit etc..

My problem at the moment is my phone keeps dying and is pretty battered..

So a new handset is the main thing..

I can't seem to find a tariff that's cheaper than what i have now..

I can't afford hundreds of pounds for a new handset :(

any suggestions?

Madaboutlfc : i don't mind which network - preferably O2 as I'm with them already..and i don't mind which phone. I'm not a huge fan of the flip ones, i don't mind the slide ones...

as long as it makes and receives calls.. :)

a camera would be handy too

Guest Johnny

Ive just been offered 750 minutes and 60 free texts (for 6 months) for £35 a month.

This comes with a new phone, do you think I could do better?

Im a stricly Pay As U go person, the money saved from not going on contract i put towards a phone, these days u can get a pay as u go handset for £20. Are u wanting a super duper camera tea making phone?

My GF pays £20 a month on an 18 month contract her actual spend a month is about £35

So 35 x 18 = £630

i really dont see why u need to go on contract just to get a new phone as it works out dearer in some cases.

I just moved to Orange Pay as u go, cos the offer was very good

£10 a month top up

You get

Free calls to other orange phones between 7pm-12pm

300 text messages

1Mb of downloads

Probably the best pay as u go offer around

yeah you can port the number to Orange.. a Motorola V3 on Orange with 200 Anytime Minutes + you get an extra 3000 weekend mins Per Month to Local National and any mobile Network for the first 6 months, 200 Minutes thereafter..the handset would be free plus free line rent for the first 6 months of a 12 month contract.. A D600 on the same contract would be 14.99 for the first 6 month plus free phone.. a D600 is a 2 MP phone and a V3 is a 1MP phone..

how do you know :D do you work for this crowd?

That's a mighty good offer if it's true?

i'd definitely be up for such an offer.

can you break that down for me again..if I was to choose this phone + £25 (or about line rental..)

what am i actually gonna get and what's the catch?

is there such a thing called 'flight-mode' where you can have your phone on but not necessarily receiving a signal ?

i.e. if i had my phone as mp3 player how could i listen to it on a plane?

and what is that all about no phones in planes :hmm:

my mate has an agents account.. the normal line rent is 30 quid but will be refunded for the first 7 months using cashback every month.. i think this includes 3 months free insurance but the catch is that the insurance is a contract if you decide to take it up.. otherwise if you cancel it within 14 days you will be given a full refund..

Agreed about the K750i, got one and is an awesome phone, the W800i is basically the same phone with different firmware, which allows for flight mode and a 512mb card, the K750i u get 64mb.
