Mortgage lender vs solicitor

My daughter is in the middle of the process of buying her first flat. The mortgage offer was made about three months back, solicitor appointed etc. and all the paperwork, searches etc. have been going through, getting signed etc. This afternoon the mortgage lenders have called my daughter to say that they cannot work with her solicitor because the solicitor is not on their panel. I'm fuming on her behalf. Three months of correspondence etc. and now they decide that her solicitor is not viable. I'm guessing that the only option for her is to change to another solicitor and that will entail further legal costs that she really can't afford. Absolute d****ead behaviour from the mortgage lenders, this. :banghead:
