Beauden Barrett is nowhere near Dan Carter as a kicker.

Thankfully

Or in most other respects. Carter at his peak was better with ball in hand. Time still for Barrett but he really hasn't stood up this series. Remember how good Carter was in 2005? He took the game to a new level.

Carter is an ATG. Tough act to follow but Carter had Grant Fox and Andrew Merhtens to surpass.

The Barrett lads look to be decent tho

He looks very decent but I was surprised too see a fair bit of chat before the series about him maybe being better than Carter. Carter is possibly the best rugby player ever.

I thought Watson was poor.

Yeah, I'm biased. But fck off.

Carter, like Wilkinson, was one in a generation,

I thought Watson was poor. Presumably in the team to break lines and punish teams? I say this as someone with little knowledge of rugby though.

Yes, it would seem you have little knowledge of rugby to be fair!

Thought he was excellent. Showed great game intelligence.

Has anyone seen where Read was as it was kicked off ?

I can't get a clean angle of both

Good spot. It's not conclusive cos the TV producer did a close up a split second before but when they go to the wide frame again the ball has been kicked. Read is almost level with the ball 3 yards into the Lions half and every other NZ player is still in the NZ half

Have sent u the pic on twitter

Read has come running at pace from some way back.

Ball is kicked at 6.18 in the link below. Pause it at 6.19. He's behind the ball with one leg still in his own half. Though I suppose he could still be in front of the kicker, given that Barrett took it from a couple of feet inside his half.

Dunno though, he's moving way faster than Number 20, who was defo behind Barrett when he kicked it so I reckon their position at the point he kicked it is probably similar, maybe Read a little bit further ahead but I reckon he's probably ok..
