Decent steak in Liverpool?

Can vouch for Rookwood food, but didn't have the steak - the sausage was locally sourced, though, and as good as I have tasted, so bodes well.

Miller and Carter in Ormskirk and Birmingham were both more than acceptable, so guess Albert Dock will be.

Pretty sure I had a very nice steak at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse in Hotel Indigo a couple of years back.

Not heard great things about the new Smokehouse where Probe/Ted Baker used to be. Never had a problem with Meet, tbf.

But....best Steak I have had in town since the old Albany closed down was at Fazenda, if you like the Rodizio/Brazilian format. A level above Bem and Viva Brazil, really nice place and great quality steaks.

If it's in 3 weeks my mate is opening a place on Seel Street called Slim's Pork Chop Express which should be open by then (opening day 19th). Will serve all kinds of meat including steak, brisket, pulled pork, different platters of various meat etc. I've seen some of the food they'll have and it really looks good (I am slightly biased but still).

Miller Carter is fantastic. So is Liverpool Bar and Grill off Brunswick street (Not a steakhouse, but a fantastic steak none the less)

Do the waiters help you cut up the steak there?

I really like Lunya and Salt House Tapas - really good food. Lunya's house white Rioja is really good as well.

Sapporo is good for a big group but it's performance over food quality. The food is not bad but it's not great.

Gusto has always been spot on when I've been.

Il forno is ok but there are better Italians in town, I prefer Piccolinos even if it is a chain.

Had lunch in The Blackburne today, it was really good.

I love etsu, really good, small Japanese. Sapporo is fun as said, especially for big groups.

Had some interesting stuff at il forno and mixed experience at Gusto - although the good was very good, tbf.

Yee to Rah is OK, but big brother Chaophyra is better

I think the Salt house group (tapas, baccaro, Hanover Social) is a real treasure in the city these days.

Not steak but a new cafe on hanover st - lox and caper - has revolutionised the Liverpool sandwich scene. Not an exaggeration when I say the best sandwich shop in the city, maybe the best anywhere. 18 reviews on tripadvisor and 17 are 5 star.

The guys who run it are dead sound too
