A mate of mine of 30+ years has been a regular poster on here for many a year, a big red obviously. I don't want to put specific names in the public domain for obvious reasons of privacy but I hope you see why and get the tone.

He and his wife have 2 lovely little girls. They are the Davies family. The eldest daughter is 7 years old and I'm very proud to be her God Father too. She is the most wonderful girl.

Last week, she was diagnosed with Leukaemia. She and the family face a really tough road ahead in the coming weeks, months and probably couple of years. There's a good prognosis at the end of it all but the journey will be the most difficult of their lives.

They have received great support already from family and friends which lifts their spirits every day.

If you feel like posting a brief message of support for a fellow red, his beautiful daughter and family, I know that this would mean a lot coming from the red community.

Cheers.

I never realised how long the treatment was for Leukaemia until last year as, luckily, i have never had to deal with it. Think it's at least two years isn't it? Regardless, at least the prognosis is good and they can all get on with fighting it, best wishes to them

All the best in the world to the Davies and the extended family. I have a 7 year old daughter myself, they are tough and headstrong little un's at that age, they know what they want and how to get it, that leukaemia won't know what hit it!

Cancer is a frightening word and this is a terrible thing for anyone to have to go through, especially one so young. My two are 3 and 5 and I can't begin to imagine how I'd feel in the same situation.

It'll be a tough road I'm sure, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel especially with a good prognosis, and I'm sure that one day life will be back to normal again. The doctors dealing with this are amazing people, and your little girl will be in the very best hands possible I'm sure.

Be strong for each other and you will get through it - YNWA, we're all behind you.

Aye, not only did we sort out Paxton we also cured Leo of his lethal Ebola/HIV/Goitre/Polio/Haemerrhoids cocktail.

We'll beat this together! YNWA.

Haha - it did turn out to be cancer like, but you cured me of that too, so we've got a 100% record on this one. YNWA is a good place for people getting better.
