Got my renewal letter through the other day, got the cover about £50 cheaper elsewhere. So I just rang them to cancel my direct debit, used the telephone system to navigate to "Thinking of leaving us", whereby you get the message that they're soooo busy with emergency breakdown traffic they can't answer the call and disconnect you. So I ring back up, select the "Renewal" option and by jove, all that emergency breakdown traffic has disappeared instantly and they can take your call!

 

So I cancelled on the renewal line, though they weren't happy ("I'll have to pass your through to the correct department I'm afraid sir"). c****. Should be illegal that.
