On the train

Was on the train Friday night and, not unusually, there was a fella talking on his mobile at full volume - unusually though he was quite interesting.

He was shifting tickets for the Barca/Utd game Saturday night and talking generally to various mates about football and other sports - after he spoke to one, he rang Betfair and started laying bets on Allardyce taking over at Upton Park. "I'll lay £250 at that price, what is it now? I'll lay another 250 there. What is it now? Ok, anotehr 250" and on he went. It was classic - quick train journey home and he's laid over 1,500 quid on what sounded like a whim.

And then he started backing the young Italian fella for the golf - think he put about £600/£700 on him.

I guess we've all got bored on train journeysthough, eh??

By the way, it was Angus Loughran - I didn't realise till I saw him get of fthe train at some godforsaken hell-hole (Feltham or Staines, somewhere like that I think it was).
