iTunes problem

I've just transferred all my music onto the new computer's C: drive, and added it into iTunes but it's not showing up, all I'm getting is a generic start-up page with tutorials on how to buy music from iTunes. I realise it's probably something obvious, but is there some setting I've to change that I'm missing? I've already authorised this computer to play the music

Can't help you on that question I'm afraid, but I want to do this - how did you do it?

You need to import the files into a library - option on File menu, if I remember correctly.

 

 

Yeah I did that, I think the problem is I stopped it half way through and then reinstalled it, I'm thinking it may have to all be transferred in.

 

Can't help you on that question I'm afraid, but I want to do this - how did you do it?

 

Had to transfer it all onto an external hard drive and then onto the new computer, pasted it into the C: drive and then "add folder to library" while having the "organise music" option checked
