Strauss and Anderson rested for tour Cook to captain

Test squad: A Cook (captain), I Bell, S Broad, M Carberry, P Collingwood, S Davies (wkt), G Onions, K Pietersen, L Plunkett, M Prior (wkt), A Shahzad, R Sidebottom, G Swann, J Tredwell, J Trott, L Wright.

 

One-day squad: A Cook (captain), T Bresnan, S Broad, P Collingwood, J Denly, E Morgan, M Prior (wkt), K Pietersen, L Plunkett, R Sidebottom, A Shahzad, G Swann, J Tredwell, J Trott, L Wright.

 

Personally I think Strauss should have gone he doesnt play 20/20 wont be at the IPL so now won't play any cricket at all, also think its important for a captain to be there to help with continuity

 

No problem at all with Anderson resting his injury, and personally think that Collingwood, Swann, Broad and Prior should have all been rested for at least 1 of the squads, they've all played lot of cricket in every form of the game, and I feel Collingwood being 20/20 captain would have benefitted more by playing in the IPL

 

With the test side though it'll be interesting to see if Carberry comes in to open or whether we'll go down the 5 bowler route with Prior at 6 and i presume Bell/Trott to open?
