Heading off there for the week in a bit, anyone been down that neck of the woods before ? Recommendations for stuff to do ect.. ?

Porthleven is nice, great surfing if that's your bag. Few decent boozers too. And pasties.

But I had 2 cracking meals here http://www.kotarestaurant.co.uk/ run by a Maori guy, as good food as I've ever eaten anywhere.

Where are you staying?

 

What sort of stuff are you wanting to do?

 

The coastline from The Lizard around to Porthleven is awesome (particularly Lizard to Mullion Cove) so if you are into walks you will love it.

 

Beach wise as Muleskinner said Praa Sands is nice, would also strongly recommend a visit to Porthcurno near Penzance (home of the Minack Theatre which is cut into the cliffs). A beautiful place. As is Kynance Cove (just a couple of miles from Lizard - though its not the easiest to access)

 

Porthleven is superb, suggest a drink & a bite in The Ship Inn, if there is a better view from a pub I have not seen it. If you are energetic walk around the cliffs a couple of miles you will get to Trewavas Head which is the site of an old tin mine on the cliff, and another beautiful stretch of coastline

 

Mullion is also worth a visit, particularly Mullion Cove & Polurrian Cove. There's a great hotel on the cliff at Polurrian that does superb food for an evening out

I've only been to The Lizard once and we stopped for a drink at a little shed/shack/cafe out on the cliffside. Best pasty I have ever eaten.

That far end of Cornwall is ace, as Ian Rush once said, its like being in a foreign country.

St. Michaels Mount is alright, but avoid Lands End though - commercialism at its worst!
