Free video/picture hosting sites?

Hopeful some of you young tech-savvy types can help me here. I recently had a kid, and am trying to find a way to keep grandparents, aunts, uncles etc up to date with his development - they're scattered all over the world. I figure there must be a simple way to create a site that'll host pictures and short video clips. Is that basically what facebook and myspace do? Or is there something else out there that'll do what I'm after? It needs to be something that completely non-computer-savvy people can handle - ideally they'd just click on an url and have instant access to everything, no signups, no creating their own pages etc.

 

While I'm at it - what's the best free way to do webcam chat? Want to set that up too for similar reasons - is Windows Live Messenger suitable and user-friendly?

 

Sorry for all the questions - the saddest thing is realising that if I were 17 I wouldn't have to ask about this stuff...
