Just had a quick look at the starting lineups for the first 6 games this season. Rafa really hasn't rotated at all. Wonder if the media actually do their jobs and notice this

Played all games:

Pepe, Carra, Arbeloa, Dirk, Keane

Missed one game:

Yossi, Xabi, Nando,

That's 8 players that have started at least 5 of our 6 matches. Stevie has missed out due to injury, Masch due to the olympics

Srktel has played the last 4 and Rafa seems to be rotating the LB spot.

Rafa does seem to be really focusing on a core squad of 15/16 players. Bodes well imo.

Changing formation is more important/potentially disruptive, I reckon. Especially if that is combined with resting players.

get into good form, then start to rotate so that we come strong at the end of the season.

I have know problem wiht rotation, its when the rotation itself affects the form and means we drop points. Now that we beat the mancs, perhaps stoke would be a good option to rotate a few players.

nope, i think we need to pick up 3 points next week and cant risk dropping points, especially as at least one of the Mancs/Chelsea drop points, we can put some daylight between ourselves and them. I'd be happier to leave Torres and Gerrard in the hut on tuesday, and keep them fresh for next saturday.

I'm not sure how close both really are to full fitness, Gerrard might need the game but I'd hold Torres back if there is any doubt. We should have enough for Marseille regardless.

exactly, and dropped points against Marseille would be less damaging to our season than dropped points against Stoke.

Not to mention Dirk will probably get a brace anyway, so we might as well let Torres and Gerrard rest up for Stoke.
