Liverpool to Bristol

anyone took the train to bristol? i have to go in a couple of weeks for work, and haven't made my mind up whether to drive or get the train. both of which should take 3 1/2 hours. If its a virgin type train that goes to london, then I will probably take the train. However if its a s***ty diesel thing with no heating then i would rather drive.
