think playing Gerrard on the right would be a good start, at the moment hes not getting forward from the middle so we're losing his attacking impact. Play Masch and Alonso in the middle with Stevie wide right.

When we were defending he stood in front of Finnan to cover but when we were attacking he ran though the middle and even wide left??

 

There was a kid at left-back for them making his debut.. I really think someone as astute as Rafa would've isolated him as someone who was a weak link. It looked well strange second half.

just finished watching Barcelona win 4-0 and the game left me thinking we have a long way to go as a team.

 

Barcelona were without Deco, Messi and Ronaldhino and they still took the opposition apart with their passing, movement and finishing.

 

they have defenders who can trap a ball, control it and actually pass , on the floor, to a team mate.

 

Puyol, Thuram and Marquez are not world class players, but they display abilities that are way beyond that of our defenders.

 

what bugs me is that we have the players with the skills, but they seem scared, or unwilling, to put them on display.
