Current count seems to be that Sam is the 8th manager to get the boot, but surely he's the seventh as Fat Head wasn't sacked by Brum - he quit to take up the Wigan job

it's serie a all over again. mental owners, loads of short-termist sackings, too much money at stake, stupid transfer fees, players paid ridiculous wages. football goes in cycles. something has to give at some point. we await england's first match-fixing scandal.

And yet the two clubs with the most sustained records of recent success have had managers for 12 and 22 years. Wonder if there's a correlation?
