Best Christmas songs?

Friend has asked me to put together a cd of Christmas music, but not the obvious stuff. Thought that this was the perfect place to ask for suggestions re. brilliant but not that widely familiar Christmas music, as this place is an incredible repository of musical taste and knowledge . Can't be too obscure, because I'll probably have to find free download links for all of them!

 

My shortlist so far includes a couple of tracks from the Phil Spector Xmas album, James Brown's Santa Claus/Straight to the Ghetto, Staples Singers 'who took the merry out of Xmas', O'Jays 'Xmas isn't Xmas', The Ventures 'Jingle Bell Rock', and Charles Brown's 'Please come home for Xmas'.

 

What are your suggestions? I know James Brown has a ton of other Xmas music that I haven't tapped into yet.
