So I got out of hospital a few weeks ago, long time in heart stopped a few time tubes coming out me neck etc and I find myself on HPN. Obviously the nurses used to do it for me but I've been sent home to build myself up before my next op so now I do it all myself.

My question is.. Has anyone else on here going/gone through the same thing. I really could use some good advice, the nurse comes once a week and she's told me to look on the web for support groups etc, but to be honest their all f****** gobs***** - it's all "this is the best thing that's happened to me" and " I prefer my life like this, it makes me feel special" basically just Americanised pseudo phycological bulls***.

I'm finding it quite difficult in that I could basically give myself a life ending infection twice daily if I make the tiniest of mistakes putting myself on/off. I don't need sympathy, just real advice from people that have gone through the same (or knows someone who has).Stuff like how did you/they cope what do you do if your blood starts coming out (happened the other day - nurse just told me not to worry) etc,etc
