[Gilps]

were bloody marvellous last night at the Royal Festival Hall. On top, top form.

 

Opened by playing the whole of The Tain, which was a rare treat and followed that up with Apology Song. From that point on though you'd have been forgiven for thinking The Crane Wife was the only record they'd put out as we got most of it plus Culling of the Fold and After the Bombs. Would've been nice to hear some older stuff too, but hey it was all good.

 

Encored with a lovely Kingdom of Spain and a manic Mariner's Revenge Song. Even Mrs Gilps was impressed.
