My rewritable drive just stopped working.

Driving me nuts. I used to be able to just open up a window for my E drive and drag and drop photos etc either onto a dvd or cd into this empty window (and it would only take a few moments) but now nothing happens at all.

 

When I go to close down windows it's telling me that a process is running which is obviously my pc considering doing this copying or not.

 

I tried opening up Windows media player and burning a data cd that way instead on the same drive and it just tells me to incert a cd and the drive opens and out pops the brand new cd /dvd I've just put in!

 

Somewhere along it's just decided not to read cds/dvds anymore.

 

I know this is really dull but does anyone have any ideas? Could a windows update have fecked up my drivers or something?
