After 3 weeks on the bus, I've bought a new car. Being a German one (although it's made in Swindon  ) the steering wheel is on the left.

I've driven in America before so this is not so unusual for me. I thought the biggest difficulty was going to be changing gear with my right hand - always had an automatic in the USA - but that took me about 30 seconds to get the hang of.

But what I've been surprised by is how hard it so judge a turn (especially a left one) when you're sitting in the left-hand seat rather than the right-hand one. I'm really having to think carefully in advance about the exact 'line' I need to follow to get around and straighten up in the right position.

Anyone else had similar experiences? Or indeed the opposite - going from left-hand drive to right?

Oh yeah, and welcome back...to petrol.
