Village Life

So it looks like the new house the missus is buying is going to be in a village. Will my weekends become an idyllic semi-rural retreat, or am I more likely to pine terribly for the bright lights of hip, happening Reading town? More importantly, are tweeds and a barbour jacket compulsory and if so, will they look dapper or ludicrous on a man of my tender years?
