Norton Internet Security

Does anyone have any experience of Norton Internet Security 2006?? A mate has been having problems with internet explorer and by the sounds of it I think its Norton thats the problem.

 

Personally I find all these security suites by Norton, McAfee etc too invasive and have never used them. Hes obviously gone out and bought Norton though so before I start telling him to replace it with AVG or whatever, I wouldnt mind hearing some opinions.

 

Is Norton Internet Security any good? Or is it the bloated resource hungry control freak I suspect it is?
