New tv trouble

I got a new lcd tv for my bedroom for my birthday, fairly cheap but does the biz. Anyway, the tv feed comes from the Sky+ box downstairs via a Sky eye set up, the external aerial is b****xed so thats the only way to get a picture.

 

Having gone through all the set up procedures the picture is coming through no probs, it seems the only sound feed is coming thru in mono instead of stereo. I have looked at every setup variation possible but still its mono - which presumably is what is coming out of the sky box.

 

2 questions then, firstly is the sound from the rf2 output on your sky box supposed to be mono and secondly if I got one of these PC speakers which has a normal audio jack (like the tv has for PC input) would it provide an improved/stereo sound?
