i've to organise a 'movie day' at a learning centre for refugees & asylum seekers next week and i'm looking for help in choosing a movie that won't be too challenging in terms of language. most of the students are women in their 30s & 40s, but there are a few younger and a handful of men. looking for fairly wholesome content, and i'm not sure whether toilet humour might offend certain cultures.

i've got a few laurel & hardy movies lined up for the morning - good physical humour and clear, articulate english - but i think something a bit more modern is called for in the afternoon. any suggestions for something lighthearted and not too colloquial in its dialogue?

so far, 'mr bean' seems a safe choice - but i'd rather show something a bit 'braver'. 'dumb & dumber' would be good fun, but i'm not sure if the laxative scene is a bit too close to the wire (anyone aware of any cultures, religions that would frown on such antics?).

pink panther movies would involve too many wordplays and something like 'toy story' could be a bit hard-going if it's particularly american in its language.

suggestions?
