Weekend Break

Looking for a nice little country hotel with comfortable rooms, a good restaurant, decent bar and wine cellar, maybe a pool, jacuzzi etc. but not essential. Anyone any recommendations? Probably aiming at Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, or Cotswolds. Cause I can get to em all withon 2 hours - I don't want to spend all the weekend driving. Only provision - no corporate hotel chain, would much prefer a privately owned place.
