DVD Burner Problems

[£440,000]

I've got a Toshiba DVD+R in my laptop and it plays dvd's and cd's and burns cd's without any problem, but if I try and burn dvd's it says that the disc's aren't recognised or writeable. Any ideas what it might be? Def using the right kind of discs.
