Anyone involved in teaching/studying ?

Having just started studying for 1st time in 18 years, can anyone help me on the following please ?

 

I'm doing an assignment, and amongst all the guidelines on presentation, it requests that I double space my lines.

 

Is this as simple as it sounds, and hit enter to stick a blank line between lines of writing Or am I taking that too literally, and there's really a secret handshake type of formatting for school work these days.
