What have the papers got to say about the match ?

Is it all Gerrard should be in the middle, Crouch should have played more, too much rotation or is it fair talking about how we absolutely battered them and they were lucky ?

Paul Wilson in the Observer just says that they were lucky to win but that we didn't create anything other than Crouch's chance at the end and a shot from JAR (though he does then mention Bellamy squaring it too far ahead of Kuyt in the first half). Doesn't mention the good chances at the start of the second half for Gerrard and Bellamy.

 

He gave Carra the man of the match but slagged him off for the tackle on Rooney. Positively gushing by his usual standards, though he evens it up by having a sly go at Gerrard for the Sheffield Utd pen last week in his column.
