Learning the Geeeetarrrr

My son got an electric guitar for Christmas. He's 10 and keen to learn.

 

We are going to get some tuition sorted but in the meantime, does anyone know of a good book/dvd etc to teach kids of that age the basics prior to lessons?

 

It came with a Fender dvd but its really a bit too complex and fast paced for a youngster to get to grips with.

 

He needs something more graphical and engaging.

 

And recommendations folks?
