The left side issue

Our weakest link, imo, is down the left, and the combinations we try do not seem to work so far, and all other managers identify it as a weak point. Usually correctly. Until Kewell returns, or unless we get a decent xfer in Jan, I think we need to bench Riise, never play Garcia on the left again, and get Aurelio and Gonzo in there on a consistent basis. Fabio is criticised for poor defending, but I don't get this, I think is a far better defender than Riise, likes going forward, and has a footballing brain. Whenever Aurelio plays at LB he has been decent. Not to mention his decent crosses and getting around defenders when attacking. Aurelio is potential class in my humble opinion, and is just not gettng the opportunity.

 

As far as the left wing, well Garcia just cannot be trusted, at least not in the big games. What he gives in terns of goals is not enough given how soft he is in the tackle and giving the ball away way too easily too often and lack of fight. He and Riise need to be benched to think about things for a bit, and as with Fabio, MG needs a consistent run in order to build confidence, and personally the best left combo we have is FA and MG, although maybe rusty until they click and find confidence. MG is a natural left winger, has pace and gives us width, how on Earth can he gain confidence unless played consistently. Rafa gave penannt plenty of time for enant to settle, time to give same for MG.

 

I'm probably wasting my time as f*** knows what Rafa is thinking or will do, but I am sure most will agree that left side is a major problem that is just not delivering the goods with Riise and Garcia.

I don't agree with your assessment of Garcia.
